Tycoon Vekselberg asks Washington to lift sanctions from him

MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russian tycoon Viktor Vekselberg, owner of multi-industry holding Renova Group, has filed a request to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Treasury Department asking the authority to lift sanctions from him, Renova’s representative Andrei Shtorkh told PRIME on Friday.

“The American lawyers who represent interests of Mr Vekselberg, have filed a request to cancel the sanctions imposed on him to the corresponding department of the U.S. Treasury Department,” he said.

In April, the U.S. blacklisted several Russian tycoons and companies they control, including Vekselberg and his company Renova Group.
